My new theme song

I can't believe there's a song called "My Boobs are Okay" - but, lo and behold, there is...and here it is.

And, no, some of the comments about being "stupid girls"..I don't agree with, and, no, mine aren't that big...but I must say, after my good news, I do LOVE the chorus, and as of late, I've been singing it often. Everybody, sing it with me:

My boobs, My Boobs...My Boobs are OKAY!

Cancer Free!

I got the "all clear" on my boobs today. I am Cancer Free!!! Doc said that he had a better chance than I do of getting breast cancer at this point - and that wasn't likely. Huge relief! They found nothing else, not even any more DCIS...and definitely nothing worse. Now I'm over that hurdle. Feels amazing!

Since they left my nipple, that's the most likely place to come back, but again, not that likely. By having the mastectomy, I've removed it's "nest" so to speak.

He recommended breast exams twice a year. I'll be getting MRIs because I chose silicone.

Now...to continue healing, body and mind.

Tomorrow's the Day

Tomorrow, I get the results from the path report on my breast tissue. I'm praying and visualizing that they find nothing else, or if they do, that it's nothing worse than what was already there...ie no invasive cancer that the mammos have missed. I've heard of that happening.

I want the mastectomy to be IT. I'd rather not do chemo, BUT the upside (and there's always an upside) is, even if they find something else, at least they've found it, and it will be removed...and even that will be something to be grateful for.

Growing up and out...

Sasha_103 I had to share...I'm an aunt, and she's the cutest! It's going to be a blast being an aunt. Mom's having a great time being a "nana". (She's actually still deciding on what she wants to be called...but it's definitely not "granny". Maybe "Baba Betty" - my sister-in-love is Russian.)

As I left and said goodbye to my niece, I happened to think, "She's going to be a lot bigger the next time I see her...and so will my boobs." (Mastectomy is in a few days.)

Mr. Furballs is my "adoptee" from last year. I can't have pets where we live, and my mom agreed to take him. He's a doll...but he doesn't like the camera being pointed at anyone. He parks himself between the subject and the camera...just in case.
